Email certificates play an important role in protecting electronic communications, both within a company and when communicating with external partners. In environments with a very large number of individual mailboxes, however, it can be more practical to manage certificate distribution and renewal through mechanisms built into an email security gateway, since these systems are optimized for high-volume processing. In such cases, MTG CLM can continue to be used centrally for other certificate processes, such as securing IT systems, devices, applications, or connections.
