MTG presents how post-quantum cryptography can be applied to embedded systems at the CARDIS 2020 conference.

Johannes Buchmann is a computer scientist and mathematician. As an awarded expert in cryptography, he has a significant influence on cryptography research over the past 30 years. As a member of the supervisory board at MTG, he will be an important advisor and initiator in the development of innovative and sustainable IT security solutions “Made in Germany”

This year, MTG presented the quantum-safe online PKI platform MTG CARA at the RSA conference. This was demonstrated using the certificates issued by MTG CARA based on an open source browser and an email application.

Once again, this year, the “metering days” focused on value-added services that use the smart meter gateway as a secure communication end point in the home.

The German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) presented T-Systems the certification certificate for the first security module available on the market in the mini-HSM of the “Smart Meter Gateway” infrastructure. It’s an important component for the introduction of smart meter gateways in Germany.

The award ceremony took place on Wednesday, July 1st, 2015, in the presence of numerous representatives from the IT industry, economy, and Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) in Darmstadt, Germany.

Intelligent power grids, so-called “smart grids”, ensure important supply services in many areas – for example as part of the energy revolution. But in other high-tech systems, too, more and more devices are communicating with each other on the basis of digital infrastructures. The more virtual they become, the more threatened they are by possible hacker attacks and cyber-attacks. The protection of critical infrastructures is therefore a top priority for industry and government.
